It's been awhile, although I log on daily to view others posts...

I am bad! I log on quite often to look at what is going on in other people's lives. Every time I just cruise on by my own posts...;)

I've been busy busy. Heading to Albuquerque tomorrow for a project. It should be a quick trip but a hard project. Just the kind I like!

Valentine's Day was fun. Jace, Amy, Andrew and I went to a Colorado Mammoth game. Lacrosse is GREAT! They beat each other with sticks and get into fist fights. The ref's don't do a damn thing about it either! I love America - violence, sex & money make the world go 'round!

Sam went to the vet Saturday morning. He lost 2 lbs! My skinny little wiener is gonna get hot and leave me! He was a couple lbs. overweight so I'm glad we got that pressure off his little back. Gotta keep my little man healthy!

Going to run for now. Don't worry though, I'll be back soon.

Home, sweet, home

I really do not like that Thanksgiving was so close to Christmas this year. Its seems like I usually have a few more weeks to gather myself for Christmas but time just flew by this year!

My work Christmas party and Christmas with the Rigby's went very well and I am very lucky to have such wonderful people in my life. I got tons of new things, including diamond earrings from Jace and a Spot Bot from his parents. His grandparents were in town for the holidays and they are just too cute. I like when they are in town, everyone seems happier ;)

I left for TX on Saturday, with Sam in tow for our journey to Granny's house. The trip there was relatively smooth, Sam did better on the shorter flight into Waco than he did on the longer one from Denver to DFW. As expected, he was very happy to see Granny at the airport and we managed to get him outside in time so he could pee all his excitement out ;)

Sunday night we went to Sharon's house for a Christmas party. It was nice and the ribs were fabulous. Monday was Mom's dinner at la Fiesta with her girlfriends and Leeann and I tagged along for some super fabulous Tex Mex. Keep in mind this was after I had late night Whataburger the night before and Taco Bueno for lunch. I was a bad girl but man was it good!

Tuesday we saw Carma, Rodney, Mindi, Don, Nonie, Papa, Linda, and of course Harrison. He loved his gifts, although Mom's was a little advanced for his age. She got him a lego kit listed appropriate for a 7-year old! He opened it and you could see the confusion on his face. Thank goodness his Daddy likes to play with legos as well. That kid is was too cute for his own good. Nonie and Papa seem to be doing well and it was so good to see them again.

Wednesday was Christmas Eve and we went over to Maw Maw and Paw Paw's for appetizers, or "little food" as my Mom calls it. We played cards, Maw Maws favorite thing to do, and of course she whooped all of us. It was a very nice time.

Christmas day was lazy, as it should be. Mom got me an early present, my flat screen TV for my bedroom, a couple of weeks ago. She also got me a new pan and a hand mixer that I opened on Christmas day. She is bound and determined to make me into a chef ;) Leeann got me a speaker for my iPod that I have been wanting. Overall, a very nice day. Round two of Turkey was better than the first round. Something about cooking in the altitude makes things taste better at sea level.

Friday we drove to Dallas to see Reese, Jess and Jen. We spent the afternoon together and ate at Sicily's, yummy! Reese wasn't feeling good but we all had fun at Target checking out the clearance stuff. He cheered up toward the end of the afternoon before his nap. Seeing Jen and Jess was really nice. I have to see Jen every couple of months or I might lose my mind. Her and Jess are so much fun and the three of us are bound to be friends for a very long time.

On Saturday my flight didn't leave until 5:30 so I got to spend the day with my favorite person - my Mommy and Sam. We went to Walmart and just hung out before I had to go. My flight was delayed out of Waco so I should have known then that it would be delayed all the way through. It was really hard to leave Mom and Leeann and I sat on the other side of security and cried for about 30 minutes while waiting for my plane! I finally got into Denver around 11:30pm that night Jace was there right on time. Sam was very happy to see him, as was I.

I didn't take a single picture while I was there and my New Year's resolution is to be better about that. I took a few videos with my new pocket camera that my bosses got me but Ill have to figure all of that technology out later.

I had a wonderful holiday break and am a little happy to be back at work. I don't have any travel booked for 2009 as of yet so I am looking forward to a consistent and happy New Year. I hope all of you have a fabulous New Year as well. See you in 2009!

Eating and shopping...these are a few of my favorite things

All is well on the home front. Mom and Leeann got here Sunday, Nov. 22nd (I know its been a while). I worked Monday but took a half day on Tuesday and all of Wednesday off to spend time with them. It was really nice having Mom here to cook and nest, at least for the first part of the week. By the next Friday I was ready to have my space back ;)

We did some shopping on Wednesday and had a wonderful Thanksgiving dinner on Thursday. it was so yummy. Mom tried to teach me a few things about cooking but I know deep down it will never taste like hers. She says is because it never tastes as good when you cook something on your own, its always better when someone does it for you. I don't buy it though... Jace came over to eat with us (after he had dinner with his family) and we had a good time.

Friday we woke up early (as early as possible) and took off to Kohls. We shopped for 15 minutes and stood in line for an hour. I got some really good deals, none of which I can reveal because some of you folks who read my blog will be on the receiving end later this month. We also tried to get my flat screen TV at Office Depot but all the crazies beat us there. I guess Kohls kept us to long. Peir One and Old Navy were our last stops and then I had a good time looking at the back of my eyelids for a few hours.

Friday night we went to dinner with the Rigby's, so much fun and Mom really enjoyed herself. I know it makes her feel better to know I have people around me who care about my well-being just in case something happens. Although I am perfectly capable to taking care of anything that may arise, if Momma ain't happy ain't nobody happy. Lord knows that the Rigby's would do anything for me and I guess no matter how stubborn I am, it's nice to have a familiy-away-from-family.

Friday night it started to snow and Leeann could not stay away from the window. Since her last experience with snow was getting dumped on in 2006, I can understand why. They left early Saturday morning and I got to get my house back in order. All in all, a very good trip. A short one but I will be home in TX for Christmas, which isn't too far away considering Turkey Day came so late this year.

Planning on finishing some Christmas shopping tonight. I have a Doctor's appointment this afternoon and then have to get my nails done. More to come!

Mom is coming soon!

I am getting so excited for my mom and sister to get here! Sunday is going to come so slowly! They are leaving Waco Sunday monring so they shouldn't arrive in Colorado until late Sunday night. Boogie is so excited too. Everytime I tell him "Granny is coming to see you", he cocks his little head to the side and looks at me with bright eyes!

I was talking to Mom the other night and it has almost been a year (last Christmas) since she saw him! What a horrible Mommy I am!!!

We are planning a pretty low key visit. I think they are nervous about coming back to Colorado because last time they were here was in December 06. You know, the blizzard from hell. We haven't had snow like that since then but being from Texas, I can understand why that would make someone a little weary of the state.
